Popsugar: PopPhysique Leg & Butt Workout

PSPopphysiquePopPhysique Leg & Butt Workout is another 10 minute workout from Popsugar. This one is led by guest trainer Sam Harper, a PopPhysique trainer. I have never heard of PopPhysique before so of course I went straight to Amazon to do some research. And I am intrigued! I now have some PopPhysique workouts on my wishlist. After doing this workout, it is obviously barre work which I don’t love but I do like because it is so effective. In fact, little barre routines like this one are perfect finishers after a lower body workout. This morning was one of my favorite Cathe Live lower body workouts: Lean Lower Body–which had already fried my lower body. Well, this workout did an excellent job finishing it off.

There are only 3 exercises done in this workout but you do lots of variations and tempos of the first two moves. The first is a deep lunge and the second is a pretzel. There is no warm up but she does stretch you out after doing each exercise. Anna Renderer is present.

Pop Physique Leg & Butt Workout is 10 minutes long. Equipment needed is a chair and a mat.

  1. Lunge: get into a deep lunge holding the back of a chair; first you pulse in this position then hold isometrically; the you will tuck your hips in this position;
  2. Pretzel: the pretzel is a very challenging but very effective glute exercise. To get into position, sit on mat, one leg bent in front of you and the other bent behind you, so your legs are in a sort of Z or pretzel. Lift back leg off floor; lift and lower; this changes to the “wrap” which is pushing foot/leg to the back/side; next you alternate the wrap and the lift; next you flex the foot and push it behind you;
  3. Swing leg around to the side so you are on one bent leg, one hand on the floor and top leg (the one that was bent behind you) straight out to side–pulse leg in this position.

  1. I think you are my fitness sister! I just did this quick workout after my cardio. So happy to find your reviews and blog. I have an obsession with Barre/Pilates/fine toning techniques and an embarrassing collection of DVDs to prove it. I also teach Pilates but cannot get enough.
