SaraBethYoga: 20 Minute Slow Yoga Stretch

20 Minute Slow Yoga Stretch is a yoga flexibility session from Sara Beth Yoga in the spirit of yin yoga. She says that it is made up of slow stretches to release tension and find deep relaxation. Each pose is held for 1-3 minutes. I did find it to be a deep and slow stretching session. It felt very good. I had just finished a core and mobility workout that was not relaxing and since it was my recovery day I needed something more recovery oriented. This worked perfectly.

20 Minute Slow Yoga Stretch is 20:35 minutes. Equipment: a yoga mat. During the course of the session Sara shows alternate versions of some of the poses if you need something different than the version she is doing.

  1. Extended child’s pose, knees wide and arms extended in front of you on the mat
  2. On hands and knees with toes on mat, push glutes back to heels to stretch the arches of the feet
  3. Thread the needle
  4. Downward facing dog
  5. Gorilla pose (forward fold with knees bent, hands are under toes)
  6. Lay on back on mat and pull knees into chest
  7. Supine spinal twist
  8. Corpse pose
  9. Still laying on back, extend arms overhead and grasp one wrist with other hand, cross ankles, stretch your arms, upper body and legs to one side as if you are trying to form the letter C with your body
  10. Sit cross-leg with hands in prayer

  1. I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to Sarah Beth Yoga! I tried some of her stuff after reading your reviews and fell in love with her style. I am not normally a yoga person, but she makes me want to do yoga. I even treated myself to her app for Christmas and now do yoga for at least 10 minutes a day. She’s the perfect complement to the heavy weights with CG!
