Cardio Bootcamp Boogie is an intense and fun little cardio workout from Jessica Smith. It isn’t what I have come to expect from a workout with “bootcamp” in the title. Bootcamp workouts usually combine strength and cardio in timed intervals. This is just straight cardio. I suppose it is done in intervals but they didn’t seem timed. More appropriately they are cardio drills. Either way, it is a great little workout. I really enjoyed it and got a great cardio workout–short and sweet. Peanut was there at the beginning of the workout and she wanted to play! She was so cute and full of energy–which is unusual for her. She’s usually pretty sleepy.
Cardio Bootcamp Boogie is 26 minutes long; I am not sure when the warm up ends the the workout begins (maybe there is no warm up?) but about 2:30 minutes into the workout the intensity jumps, and a 3 minute cool down/stretch. There is no equipment used in this workout but for the punching moves I grabbed my one pound boxing grips. I only used them for the punch drills and I think there was two different punching drills. This is a high impact workout but Jessica always shows low impact modifications.
Since this is a pure cardio workout I am not going to break down every move but here is an idea of some of the drills that appear in this workout: Lots of side to side taps and shuffles, some jogging, some jacks, some shuffle punching, speed bags, side to side squats, jumping switch lunges, front heel tap hops, skaters, step knee hops, cross over jacks, a karaoke step, hamstring curls.
