JessicaSmithTV: 1 Mile Turkey Trop

This is a quick little cardio walk from Jessica Smith. It’s called a Turkey Trot because it was filmed around Thanksgiving and Jessica devised it as a way to squeeze in some steps between the turkey binge. I did this as a doubles workout and followed it up with another short cardio walk from Jessica called Wake Up & Walk. This combo was lower intensity than the cardio walk combo I did earlier this week (1 Mile Fast Interval Walk and 1 Mile Power Walk). Even tho they weren’t as intense, I still enjoyed them both. I got my steps in after work and burned 250 calories. Not bad. Peanut has a bone to keep her occupied throughout the walk–and she is really enjoying it, rolling around with it.

1 Mile Turkey Trot is 12:30 minutes; no warm up or cool down. You are marching in place between every move. There are arm movements with most moves even if they are not mentioned. This is not low impact but modifications are offered.

  1. Marching in place; march forward and back
  2. Side to side step tap
  3. Alternating heel digs
  4. Hamstring curls; add traveling forward and back
  5. March wide then march narrow
  6. Jog in place; add reaching arms overhead
  7. Repeat #2
  8. Repeat #4
  9. Wide alternating knees while tapping both hands to top of knee when it raises
  10. Repeat #2
  11. Grapevine
  12. March forward and back on a diagonal
  13. Repeat #6
  14. Alternating toe taps to side with bent arm side raises (low jacks); add traveling forward and back
  15. Alternating knee lift to front; add raising both arms overhead and bringing them down to knee as it raises; add traveling forward and back
  16. Alternating toe tap behind you while punching both arms in front of you; changes to punching both arms overhead
  17. Alternating low cross-over kicks
  18. Repeat #6
  19. Step forward + knee raise + step back, alternate sides
  20. Double side step; add pushing one arm across body in the direction you are stepping
  21. Lateral skater taps with bicep curls
  22. Hamstring curls
  23. Repeat #9
  24. March forward and back; add reaching arms overhead
