Naomi Joy Fitness: 20 Min Full Body Stretch // Relax + Unwind

20 Min Full Body Stretch // Relax + Unwind is a feel good total body stretching routine from Naomi Joy. This morning I warmed up with one of Naomi’s tabata rebounder workouts then finished with this workout. It did a great job stretching me out. The stretches are deep and Naomi walks you through everything, giving really good form pointers so you feel the stretches even more. This was an excellent flexibility routine that I will be using frequently on my recovery days (Sundays).

20 Min Full Body Stretch // Relax + Unwind is 21:53 minutes. Equipment: fitness mat. There is a timer in the upper left hand corner of the screen, counting down total workout time.

  1. Start on hands and knees: cat/cow into child’s pose
  2. In child’s pose, reach/stretch arms to one side
  3. Wide kneeling lunge; lift back knee off mat and shift forward and back, pushing with toes of back foot
  4. Return to kneeling lunge and reach both arms overhead; clasp hands behind back and lift arms, stretching chest
  5. Child’s pose
  6. Repeat #3 & 4 on other side of body
  7. Child’s pose
  8. Kneel on one knee with other leg extended straight to side, heel on mat, reach same side arm down shin while reaching other arm overhead, doing a side stretch; rotate foot so insole is on mat and walk hands forward, lowering head and chest toward mat
  9. In high kneeling, do an eagle arm stretch
  10. Repeat #8 & 9 on other side of body
  11. Seated figure 4 stretch
  12. Seated spinal twist
  13. Repeat #11 & 12 on other side of body
  14. Sit on mat with knees bent, legs wide and feet on mat, windshield wiper legs side to side, bringing knees to floor
  15. Lay on back, knees bent and feet on ground, pull one knee into chest; extend leg straight to ceiling with foot flexed and extend other leg straight on mat; circle ankle of raised leg; hold calf and pull leg in closer to face
  16. Repeat #15 on other leg
  17. Sit cross-leg on mat and do neck stretches
  18. Still sitting cross-leg, clasp fingers and reach arms overhead
