AngieFitnessTV: 40 Minute Low Impact Power Walk

40 Minute Low Impact Power Walk is very similar to one of Angie’s other interval power walks, Rock Solid Power Walk. This one was created in December of 2018 and Rock Solid Power Walk was created in February 2020. But they both follow the same principal, they just use different cardio walk moves. The idea behind these walks is that Angie increases the tempo as the walk progresses. There are 6 songs in this workout. The first song is 132 beats per minute and each song has a faster tempo with the last song being 145 beats per minute. As the tempo increases you march faster. This workout does creep up on you. I wore an 8 pound vest, a 10 pound belt, 2.5 pound ankle weights (5 pounds total) and a 1 pound weighted glove on my right hand. My left hand had nothing due to shoulder surgery. This is a steady state low impact cardio walk. According to my FitBit I remained in my cardio zone for the entire walk but the majority of the walk I was in the upper level of the cardio zone (it gives me a graph of my workout). I combined this workout with Angie’s 15 Minute Power Walk for a 55 minute low impact cardio workout.

40 Minute Power Walk is 40:45 minutes; 1 minute intro; 5 minute warm up and 5 minute cool down/stretch. I’m not going to break this down because it is made up of basic cardio walk steps: marching in place variations, traveling in different directions (including laterally), heel digs, side to side steps, tap out side to side, alternating knee raises, insole taps and out-out-in-in done fast (Angie calls them ladders). There are also arm movements with most of the moves.
