25 Min Rebounder HIIT Workout is another intense cardio workout from Michelle Briehler that is part of her 2 week perimenopause /menopause rebounder challenge. I have them all on my To Do list but it will be a while before I can get to the strength workouts. But I am doing the 3 cardio rebounder workouts. For this workout the focus is to push down hard in the rebounder when you jump and raise your knees but not to jump high. My heart rate did get up into Zone 5/peak heart zone. For some of the moves your feet will be on the floor. I personally like to wear yoga socks when rebounding but some workouts, particularly cardio + strength rebounder workouts, I have to wear shoes. But workouts like this I just lay yoga mats on the floor around the rebounder and that works well to protect my feet. This workout opens with squat jumps. Squat jumps are usually killer in any workout, but in this workout each time you do them you come to them fresh, either as the first exercise of the workout or after a 1:20 minute recovery period and that gave me more endurance.
This workout is done interval style: 40 seconds of work followed by a 20 second rest/transition. There is a timer in the upper right hand corner of the screen counting down your intervals and recoveries. There is a progress bar just above it counting down the workout time as a percentage. During the recovery Michelle previews the next move.
25 Min Rebounder HIIT Workout is 27:12 minutes; 1:10 minute intro, 4:14 minute warm up, 50 second cool down and 2 minute stretch.
- Squat jump
- Lateral ski hops
- Moving plank pop (in forearm plank with arms on rebounder and feet on floor, push/hop arms up to straight arm plank then lower back to forearm plank)
- Skipping–20 seconds each leg (place one foot on rebounder and other on floor, push up into a knee raise with a hop, raising floor knee)
- Tuck jumps with arms extended straight in front of you
- 1:20 minute rest
- Repeat #1-6
- Repeat #1-5
- 50 second rest
